Luoyang is a city of 6.5 million people in western Henan province. It is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. Luoyang is home to the Longmen Grottos, a complex of caves and stone Buddhist sculptures carved in the Tang dynasty (A.D. 618 to 907). This is one of the most remarkable places I have ever seen.
